what I’m thankful for :: a quick workout

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.  1 Corinthians 6:19

Sometimes we can get stuck in our working woman or mommy demanding lives and forget to take some time for ourselves and our bodies.  We can daily be pulled in one hundred different directions, all of which are important to us as we lead our families.  Seasons of no alone time.  Seasons of opportunities.  Time to relax.  Time to hustle.  As it seems like I have more and more on my plate this year, I’ve found that I have to be creative to get my “me” time.  Getting up early to read the Bible and drink my cup of coffee.  Getting up before the sun to enjoy a peaceful jog.  Reading a few chapters of my favorite book at naptime.  Stealing a few minutes after a workout to grab a coffee and listen to a Francesca Battistelli song.

Maybe you only have 10 minutes of alone time a day.  Or even 5.  When it comes to our bodies and taking care of them physically, every bit we do can be beneficial. Our bodies serve as the temple in which the Holy Spirit dwells.  Just as we honor God with our mouths, we must also honor him with how we move.  But again, who has the time?!  I’ve created this no excuse, time saver workout to do in your living room with your kids or in front of the stove while you cook.  Get creative in honoring God with your very best.  Honoring the temple God gave us through exercise prepares us for enduring tasks and heavy lifting the Kingdom calls us to.

30 jumping jacks

20 squats

10 push-ups

5 crunches

Repeat for 10 minutes or longer!
