My teaching is as precious as your eyesight–guard it! Write it on the back of your hands; ETCH it on the chambers of your heart (Proverbs 3.7 MSG).
WHO WE ARE
It all started in 2014. Four women (Kelsey in her late 20s, Carrie in her 30s, Kimberly in her 40s, and Terri in her 50s) met through ways only God could have designed. Our desire to follow Christ, the unique life struggles each of us experienced, our personal skills, and professional training all started working together. A central desire emerged among us: To live Christ-centered lives that blend our faith into our daily routines and teach our families to do the same. Through the people we know, we knew we weren’t the only ones to feel this way.
From this, our mission was born:
To equip, encourage, and elevate each other to live together with Christ —extraordinarily.
We asked ourselves: What does a Christ-centered life really look like? Our hearts yearn for God’s Word in our homes, our daily lives, and our relationships. Not just once-a-week at church, or during our quiet times, but in every step we take, every decision we make, every breath, living for Him.
Our culture has taught us to compartmentalize, to schedule our days and to finish one thing before moving to the next. This mindset bleeds into how we live with Christ and how we share Him in our lives. We are good at scheduling a chunk of time for Him in our week; and then, with good intentions, we set out to live for Him, but often leave Him out. So, how do we practically cancel out a mindset of compartmentalization? This was the very question that we wrestled through and that lead us to the birth of ETCH. We desire to weave Christ into everything we do and how we interact with others. God says that the only way to do this well is to know Him well.
WHAT WE DO
You may be asking: what is “Etch,” and what does “My Etched Life” mean?
Our inspiration comes from this verse: My teaching is as precious as your eyesight–guard it! Write it on the back of your hands; ETCH it on the chambers of your heart (Proverbs 3.7 MSG).
We design, create, and share resources to help others (and ourselves) blend our faith in Jesus into every area of our lives. To do this, the MyETCHedLife blog provides encouragement to grow in your relationship with Jesus. Soon, our products will be available in our online shop to bring Scripture into every area of your life. Some of these will include Scripture memory cards, beautiful home decor pieces, and much more.
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter at #myetchedlife. It’s where we will tell you about new products, share our stories and struggles, and bring the voices and resources we find inspiring along the way.
On our blog, we have
identified seven Biblical areas that we want to explore and nurture when it comes to our relationship with God: worship, learn, pray, practice, share, serve, and rest. (You’ll find these keywords under the “life” section at the top of the blog). These are all elements of our faith that can move us closer to God. Under these headings, is where you’ll find our archived blogs and additional resource listings. We’re going to go slow, make mistakes, learn from them, learn from you, and always celebrate the journey. We’ve covenanted together to not make this about the process, or the products, but to stay focused on God’s dream for our lives and yours. We’re not measuring or competing with each other. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
Over the coming months on our blog, you will find links to Christian voices, unique viewpoints, informational websites, Scripture, and more. Not all will speak to you, not all will you agree with, but we hope you’ll find pieces of nourishment for your hungry soul and to feed your faith. We hope it will motivate a deeper relationship between you and God. So walk with us. Subscribe to our newsletter and check back frequently!
As we often remind each other, take a deep breath. There’s a lot to learn. And now you know Etch is here to help.
We are four women trying to navigate the same stressors, busyness, and distractions you may experience. We invite you
to walk with us and share your journey and engage. God calls us to community — to equip, encourage, and elevate each other.
Together we can find our way to an ETCHed life more worthy of the grace we’re given, and lived for God’s glory.
