Give this gift to encourage with the comfort of knowing Jesus is the reason for celebrating this season! Keeping our mind on Him allows for our hearts to be in a posture of gratitude that our Savior came down from heaven, to die, so that we can live with Him forever!
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” It’s a simple statement about a revolutionary act. At Christmas, we celebrate Jesus’s birth, but can we even begin to understand why he would come? He sacrificed His place of glory to be born and laid in an animal's food trough. He gave up His perfect form to live in a human body. He suffered and eventually laid down His life for people who hated and mistreated him.
Jesus did this all because of love, love for each of us. Love that sacrifices. Love filled with grace and truth. Love that takes on our sin and shame and covers the cost. On that first Christmas day, love came down as a Lord, a Savior, and a friend.
