God's presence is always with us. His plan, path, and His pace are what we can rest in. Even when His way is longer or more rugged, His way is better, His way outweighs any conditions because in the midst of it we are with Him. When we go His way, we can trust that we are equipped in and through Him. He surrounds us, he cares for us, and he keeps us. When we dwell in who he is, entrusting ourselves to him, we gain an eternal perspective to see that in the stretching, refining, suffering, and growing he is at work. We are propelled into a faith that does not waver and solely depends on him, for it is all by his grace and all for his glory. We trust, leaning not onto our understanding, but in his because what he wants to show and teach us is far greater than anything the world would have us believe. 

He never promised it would be easy, and it definitely isn’t. There are times when we fall to our knees, wondering if we can go on. The trek seems impossible as we look up to find it reaching the skyline. Our feet ache beneath us. Our shoulders are weary from the burdens we carry. At times, we feel like we’re the only ones braving the unbeaten path. 

I want you to know that the One has gone before you. And because of that, He can comfort you now. (Hebrews 2)

He sees you.

He will never leave you.

He has walked the path before you.

He will bring you safely through.

Surely God is in this place. So draw near. Lift your weary neck, and draw near. Drink from the living water he has provided. Gain strength from the bread of life. Walk on the way. Press on. He is faithful. He sets the land before us. He fights for us. He carries us. He shows us the way. He dwells with us.

From the depths of the valleys and hills to the uneven ground beneath us, to the rugged places in between, all the way to the tops of the mountains, may each step that we take draw us closer to Him. May we always see his goodness, and trust that no matter what the terrain holds surely God is in this place.

Let’s never stop reminding one another to see His goodness, no matter what the terrain holds. My prayer is that this mug will do just that.
